I did 2 organic cotton bandanas. 1 I used local plants that were dug up from under the snow and the other with eucalyptus leaves from florist. The local assortment of plants didn’t leave any colour but they did leave a beautiful design on the cotton and the eucalyptus did leave lovely pinky colour. The dye bath I used was onion skins and tamarin shells, created a rich tan and brown. Quite pleased with colours. Thanks That was fun!
That sounds lovely Connie. And I admire your dedication at digging leaves out from the snow! Next week we will be using our iron mordant which will help you get clear prints from your local plants, and could be combined with this method. Although sometimes the relief prints are really nice too.
