How long do you put the wool in the dyebath for? I did my first bundle for 2 hours and the leaf prints were hardly there but the dye technique was good. Maybe I’ll try different leaves today.
Hi Jane, yes I do about 2 hours too. If you haven’t got a print after that much cooking, then it is likely that the leaf just doesn’t contain enough colour. What type of leaves did you try? Only some eucalyptus leaves will give this gorgeous orange. For other types of leaves, I usually dip them in iron mordant to help the dye bind to the wool.
