Hello Louise! Great information in this course! I have read through most of the materials and watched the videos too. I don’t have time to do the actual experimenting at present but will when time opens up. I’m a big fan of making my own iron mordant and already have some at the ready. 🙂 I have been eco-printing for a few years, and have found that the iron mordant really helps my local plant prints appear on the cloth. I will have questions when I do get to some eco-printing with the soy milk binder. One question that pops up now is how long can you leave the soy mordant on the fabric before it loses its potency? What’s the best-before date? Thanks so much for being out there, and for loving this earth! Katy x
Thanks for your lovely message Katy! I’m glad you are enjoying it and feeling inspired. It’s actually great to let the soymilk cure on the fabric for up to 3 months if patience allows. And it will still work beyond this time, but try to use the fabric within a year.
Hello Louise, I just logged in and noticed that the course expires in 20 hours or so… I thought I had limitless time to do it. Does that mean I can’t ask you questions when I finally get around to actually doing some eco-printing with the Soy milk binder?
Hi Katy Lou, sorry for the confusion. Don’t worry, you will still have access beyond that point. I think it just says that because the ‘official’ course is 5 weeks long and you are reaching the end of that time frame. If you have any issues accessing the content after then, just let me know and I will fix it.
I have another course I’m doing which finishes in 3-4 weeks and it is too cold to think about ecoprinting in the Yukon until the weather gets warmer. I usually do my cooking outside on my propane cooker… I hope things are much better as far as fires in OZ…
This has been a fantastic course. I am so pleased I lept at this opportunity and have found you. Thank you so much, my mordants are very ready now to start printing! Honestly cant wait. Thank you so much again.
