Is it possible to dye wool felt without the use of an iron mordant – I want the colours to stay bright. Can I use aluminium sulphate?? What effect would that have??
Hello, yes to keep colours bright you can use an aluminium mordant. Suzanne Dekel has some good information about which types of aluminium mordant are best to use with wool, check it out here: https://www.suzannedekel.com/amp/all-about-alum-based-mordants And of course when eco-printing with eucalyptus leaves you can get great bright prints without s any mordant.
