Hello from rural northern California. Thank you ever so much for sharing your class on line. Eco Dyeing is on my “Bucket List” so I’m excited to get started. I’m a newbie so may have lots of questions. Would you mind advising me on what to soak leaves in? Your course states, “Before eco-printing on clothing, we will be doing small tests of our leaves, so soak a few leaves from any species you are interested in and you can test them then. “. But what liquid do I soak the leaves in?
It depends on the leaves and the time of year (they need longer in Autumn when tannin levels are highest), but in general 1-2 weeks is a good length to try.

Hi Mindy, so glad you are enjoying it! Just soak your leaves in plain water ?
What a useful and inspiring lesson, Lousie. Speaking of soaking leaves in water, for how long do you soak them? One day? Thank you
